Gaanpoka is a Bangladeshi music band dedicated to celebrating Bengali language, heritage, and traditional instruments. The band began its journey at the Teachers-Student Center (TSC) on the Dhaka University campus on December 15, 2012. Initially, it aimed at leading a psychological, cultural, and philosophical revolution through its lyrics, melodies, and shows, in order to promote and preserve the rich folk culture, lifestyle, and thoughts of Bengal. It wants to ensure that the essence of Bengali culture gets a prominent place in mainstream musical practice. Currently, Gaanpoka is solely based on stage performance. It has so far presented nearly 20 self-produced songs through stage shows but has not yet released any formal studio album. Recently, the band unveiled a demo album featuring 10 of their most beloved tracks, and it is now available on Facebook, YouTube, and Spotify. Some of its popular songs are – "Aএmbagane Iter Bhata," "O Nওdi," "Piritই Noই Amar Kএaj," "Tumi Kaar Posha Pakhi," and "Dictionary."
